Boarding Vaccination Policy

To protect the health and safety of all pets in our care, Hoegemeyer Animal Clinic requires the following for all boarding patients:

Required Vaccinations

All pets must be current on:

• Rabies
• DAP2C 
• Bordetella
• Canine Influenza

Vaccination Timeline

All required vaccinations must be:

✔ Up to date
✔ Administered at least 7 days prior to boarding

This allows proper time for immunity to develop and helps prevent the spread of illness.

Important Reminders

• Proof of vaccination is required before or at check-in
• Pets not meeting these requirements may not be admitted for boarding
• Please schedule vaccines in advance of your pet’s stay to avoid delays

Boarding Requirements: Flea & Heartworm Prevention

To keep every pet safe, comfortable, and pest-free during their stay, we require all boarding guests to be current on prevention. This helps protect not only your pet, but every guest in our care.

What's Required

Dogs: Current flea prevention (within 30 days) and heartworm prevention (as prescribed)

Cats: Current flea prevention (within 30 days)

Proof of Prevention

Please provide proof prior to or at check-in. If your pet receives prevention through our hospital, we will verify for you.

If Your Pet Is Not Current

We will administer a safe, hospital-approved prevention at check-in. The cost will be added to your visit. This ensures immediate protection for your pet and others.

Flea Check at Arrival

All pets are checked upon arrival. If fleas or flea dirt are found, treatment will be given right away. Additional cleaning or treatment fees may apply if needed.

Medical Exceptions

If your pet cannot receive prevention due to a medical condition, please speak with our veterinarian prior to boarding. Approval and documentation are required in advance.
